Songsmith Showdown

We are working with American Songwriter and bringing Colorado a competition this summer into winter that has 6 artists competing in the Americana, Rock, Indie, R&B/Soul and Folk/Singer Songwriter genres.

Each genre round will consist of 6 artists, competing for themselves or representing a band, in front of an audience who will then cast their vote for each round winner.  The final round will be the winner of each genre round, with their full band or by themselves.  The first round is used to more highlight the song, and the final round is to exhibit the song either with the artist's band or by themselves.  The competition will break down into the following;

July 17th - Americana

August 21st - Rock

September 18th - Indie

October 16th - R&B / Soul

November 20th - Folk / Singer Songwriter

December 4th - Finals

Prizes will be announced soon, but currently include Cash, a paid performance slot in a festival for Fall of 2025 and entry into American Songwriter’s Song Contest. Other prizes will be voted on by our members during the May Member Meeting.

Qualifications

Each artist, whether a band or solo performer, will need to have at least 5 original compositions with all song authors credited, not all need to be available on a public platform like YouTube, Soundcloud, Spotify. Only the songs that will be submitted to American Songwriters Song Contest will need to be on a public platform.

We are working with American Songwriter and part of the prize for the winner will be entry into American Songwriter’s Song Contest. We follow the same qualifications as them, please note their terms and conditions which can be read here.

How does voting work?

The audience will receive a ticket to vote for different purchases at our host venue, Copper Sky Distillery and through the food truck Jonny’s of Longmont . There is no limit to how many tickets any audience member can get. These tickets are then used to cast their vote for their favorite performer during each round.
