Mission Statement
Our goal is to better the lives of musicians and the venues they play in.

About Us

Music First, a 501(C)3 nonprofit, is the brain child of one of our directors after they realized the hardships musicians face. She worked with local figures in the music scene to form what became Music First.

Music First offer’s our musicians assistance with education geared towards musicians, mental health, health insurance, sound equipment / production, recording, gigs / festivals, advocating for fair pay and more. Every musician can become a member of Music First and have a say in how our nonprofit grows. They can submit ideas, vote ideas into action, as well as run for officer and director positions.

With venues we provide consulting and offer them assistance with booking talented, professional musicians for any style of event. We encourage the venue to pay musicians a living rate. We not only help with marketing and promotion, but can help with the running of larger events too. We work with different vendors in our community from food trucks to local creative vendors to help bring our events to the next level.

All donations go to helping our musicians better their lives through music lessons, health insurance, mental health, addiction help, gigs and events, sound / PA assistance and more.

We are working on bringing a music venue to Longmont. Any donations made bring us closer to opening our venue. If you are looking for a sponsorship or membership to our venue, we welcome all, but request that you email us at MusicFirstColorado@gmail.com

  • Working with Music First is a true joy!! As a musician, you run the gamut of humans that you deal with. Some are nice but not good at their jobs. Some aren't kind but great at what they do. Becca and her team are both kind and great at what they do!! I look forward to working with them again and anytime I can.

  • Parchment Doll had a blast playing at Music First's recent Mardi Gras style benefit. Music First handled all of the hard stuff -- great publicity, huge fun crowd, professional sound, food, art vendors-- it felt like a huge success for the community and for the cause. It's so exciting to have an organization like this, dedicated to supporting our thriving local music community, right here in Longmont.
