Our mission is to better the lives of musicians and the venues they
play in.
ABOUT
Music First, a 501(C)3 nonprofit, is the brain child of one of our directors after they realized the hardships musicians face. She worked with local figures in the music scene to form what became Music First.
Music First offer’s our musicians education geared towards the music industry including classes on Contract Law with Bruce Warren and Music Analytics with Dani Grant, for a better class list check out of Membership page. Music First also offers assistance with mental health, health insurance, sound equipment / production, recording, gigs / festivals and more. Every musician can become a member of Music First and have a say in how our nonprofit grows. They can submit ideas, vote ideas into action, as well as run for officer and director positions.
With venues we provide consulting, advocate for fair pay for musicians and offer them assistance with booking for any style of event. We can help with promotion and with the actual running of the event through our partnerships. We like to work with different vendors in our community from food trucks to local creative vendors to help bring our events to the next level.
Check out our Member page for more info on how to become a member.
We hope to see you at one of our events.
How we Work
-

Work with up and coming musicians
Everyone starts somewhere. One goal Music First has is to assist musicians in this industry by preparing them to properly operate as a musician.
We offer the education that musicians need to create a press kit or EPK, protect themselves with contracts, how to get themselves booked and more. All of these classes are taught by someone who specializes in that portion of this industry.
-

Collaborate with Venues
Music First aims to assist venues by consulting with them regarding their ideal event. We prepare the venue so musicians can have the best experience working with them.
Music First can also help beyond consulting, for more info on how Music First works with venues please see our Services page.
-

Music Community
Music First has worked to gather a music based community since we formed in 2023.
No musician is alone in this industry, Music First wants to make it easier for musicians to find their tribe.
-

Adapt based on the needs of Musicians
Every musician can become a member of Music First. As a member they will have a voice in how Music First grows.
Each member can submit ideas, vote on those ideas and even run for positions on Music First’s board of Directors.
What Musicians Are Saying
-
Working with Music First is a true joy!! As a musician, you run the gamut of humans that you deal with. Some are nice but not good at their jobs. Some aren't kind but great at what they do. Becca and her team are both kind and great at what they do!! I look forward to working with them again and anytime I can.

Parchment Doll had a blast playing at Music First's recent Mardi Gras style benefit. Music First handled all of the hard stuff -- great publicity, huge fun crowd, professional sound, food, art vendors-- it felt like a huge success for the community and for the cause. It's so exciting to have an organization like this, dedicated to supporting our thriving local music community, right here in Longmont..

In addition to helping me find performance opportunities, Music First has also made itself available as a resource for me when I have questions about certain aspects of the music business. I think Colorado is incredibly lucky to have people so kindhearted and dedicated to helping our local musicians.
